I bought the 'complicated' T shirt and on its first outing to the supermarket I found that people (for 'people' read 'men') spend a great deal of time pretending to read the logo whilst using it as a cover to stare at your chest area - I now wear it only around the house...

Why no organic cotton option for the Tshirt? Why such crap colo(u)rs? I got the plain white one with its little black letters and, while the text is the perfect sentiment for the age, the really basic aspect of the manufacture seems a bit low-budget. There are on-demand t-shirt manufacturers that give you a huge range of choices like CafePress.

Shouldn't the bib read: "mmr hasn't been proven to be dangerous (yet)" ?

Not so good as a soundbite I suppose ;-)

(If anyone asks, we had our boy vaccinated in France, where you can choose which mmr vaccine to have, and the GP gives the shot, not a nurse, after giving a thorough health check. Here you get what you're given and can't have any information about what it is)

I bought Bad Science and wrote a review of it here. I didn't buy it for anyone else although I might lend it to my doctor friend. I'm not sure if the people I know who are into homeopathy are interested in scientific refutations - it works for them and that's all they want to know. Some of them are into NAET - have you anything on that?

Ben -

Given that you covered the whole blue/pink gender issue a while back, I'd at least have expected you to do a pink men's shirt.

OK, (almost?) everyone who saw it would likely leap to the wrong conclusions; but it'd be very very meta.

If you've bought the Bad Science book and a t-shirt and have exhausted Ben has to offer, I would recommend

Oh, and see a video at:-

Highly offensive music to play on the train/bus/tube on the speaker of your mobile phone in the way that kiddies do with their R'n'B type stuff.

Picklish, I agree with you, the mini blog is great! and superintense. I sat down yesterday, clicked on the one on the top, and by the time I'd read it there was a new one up, wow.

I'm not sure if we are supposed to bring up the stuff in the miniblog here, in the middle of discussions about T-shirts (I, too, will try to save up for a homoeopath T-shirt), but did you see that one about Tanya Byron? You just look at the title and the first thing that comes to your mind is OCD, even if you are not a psychologist. It was reassuring to see so many psychiatrists jump and rush to comment that the likely diagnosis is OCD. But my blood turns icecold when I think about all the people out there wrestling with these worries, how they will now think they are mad. Jesus.

We don't need to buy your lovely pink t-shirts and bibs when you give us the gift that keeps on giving - the mini blog, which has been especially superb these last few days. Now, when can we take back the winter festival/solstice/christmas from the easily brainwashed and turn it into a festival of science? It wouldn't be cancelling christmas, just upgrading it, really

I was thinking about this earlier, it appears that pink for boys was the norm until well into this century, and that the reverse wasn't set in stone until the 50's. Lots of interesting reasons under the link:

Please, please, not pink. I could just about stand a black t-shirt with pink marabou lettering, but even that's going a bit far.

What is it with this pink culture anyway? Are women supposed to have different retinas? Or no taste?

I would make some SVG (easily convertible to EPS) vector files for you, but I'm aware that there are so many nerds on here that you've probably received ten attachments already. Best not to duplicate the work!

Thanks to daphna re http://www.bookdepository.co.uk link - I ordered through this site because I thought Dr. Ben needed the extra revenue to pay for his podcasting gear, etc., but the huge US advance he'll get should solve that problem.

Oh it will sell in North America although given recent polls re American attitudes to nanotech the controversy it will generate will fuel the sales. I'd recommend taking on the organic food industry (which includes the promotion of non-pasteurized milk), the anti-fluoridation lobby, the anti-mercury fillings fear mongerers and the opposed to x-rays crowd.

“Bit off topic, but have you seen the paralysis-cervical cancer jab story the comments are good. I believe the daily mail have published a story but can’t bring myself to reading it…”

just tried it myself, a message came up saying, "thank you for your comment we might not be able to post them all because of the volume we recieve." i think i should mention that iv seen other newspapers website deleting and censoring comments because they were critical of the story, E.g. the daily mail deleting comments that pointed out that their pictures of "terrorist plans" were actually from a videogame. i wouldn't put it past the times to purposely ignore comments that are critical of this vaccine story.
